On 02/05/2018 at 11:37 a.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle accident in the 3000 block of 420th Avenue. Upon investigation it was determined that a 2004 Freightliner owned by Spencer NF Inc. and driven by Gary Arthur Ellis, 54, of Laurens was hauling 2014 Circle R trailer northbound on 420th Avenue. Ellis slowed to make a right turn into a driveway at 3032 420th Avenue when he was struck in the rear bumper of the trailer by a 1995 Peterbilt owned by Prins Trucking Inc and driven by Clint Norman Sixta, 50, of Ocheyedan. Following the collision, the Peterbilt came to rest in the west ditch.
Damage to the trailer is estimated at $600.00 and the Peterbilt was not damaged. No injuries were reported on scene. Sixta was issued a citiaton for Following too Close.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Graettinger Fire Department and Palo Alto County Ambulance Service.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
