On Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 1:22 a.m., a Palo Alto County Deputy observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the gas pumps at Sparky’s Convenience Store in Mallard, IA. The deputy made contact with the driver and only occupant of the vehicle. As a result of the encounter, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher M. Albers (39) of Sioux Falls, SD. on a Floyd County Iowa arrest warrant for 5th degree theft, a simple misdemeanor. Albers was able to post the $300.00 cash bond and was given a court date to appear on the charge in Floyd County.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
