On July 17, 2020, at 8:40 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested William Allen Mattingly (30) of Ruthven, IA. on three Palo Alto County arrest warrants. The warrants stemmed from a car accident which occurred on April 26, 2020 in the 3400-block of 460th Street. The warrants were issued for operating while intoxicated 2nd offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, burglary in the 3rd degree, an aggravated misdemeanor, failure to maintain control, a simple misdemeanor, and failure to maintain or use safety belts, a simple misdemeanor. The warrants carried a $4,200 unsecured signature bond. Mattingly was transported to the Palo Alto County Jail where he was served the warrants and released with a court date to appear on the charges.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
