Warrant Arrest

On September 25th, 2019, at 12:29 pm, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Scott Cupples (33) of Emmetsburg and Timothy Ford (32) of Emmetsburg on valid Palo Alto County warrants, following an ongoing criminal investigation conducted by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office.

Cupples is charged with delivery of controlled substance greater than 5 grams of methamphetamine = Class B Felony; ongoing criminal conduct = Class B Felony; and failure to affix drug tax stamp = Class D Felony. Bond for the warrant was set in the amount of $25,000 cash or surety.

Ford is charged with delivery of controlled substance greater than 5 grams of methamphetamine = Class B Felony and conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony = Class D Felony. Bond for the warrant was set in the amount of $25,000 cash or surety. During the execution of the arrest warrants, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office also charged Ford with possession of controlled substance to wit methamphetamine = serious misdemeanor and possession of drug paraphernalia = simple misdemeanor.

Cupples and Ford were transported, without incident, to the Palo Alto County Jail. Cupples and Ford were unable to post bond and were subsequently booked into jail to await their initial appearances before a magistrate. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the ongoing criminal investigation by the Emmetsburg Police Department and the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
