At 5:55 p.m. on September 15, 2018, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Blake Michael Gibson (21) of Emmetsburg on two warrants. Gibson was sentenced to serve time at the Residential Treatment Facility in Sioux City, Iowa in lieu of prison on original charges of Eluding Law Enforcement, two counts of burglary in the 3rd degree, and one count of theft in the second degree. These charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on September 15, 2017 where Gibson led law enforcement on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle. Gibson left the Residential Treatment Facility before completion. Arrest warrants were issued for Gibson for the above charges, along with a sex offender violation. Gibson was transported to the Palo Alto County Jail and held on the no bond warrants until his initial appearance in front of a judge. Assisting the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
