On Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 8:43 p.m., Alicia Helmers (20) of Pomeroy, Ia turned herself into the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office on two valid Palo Alto County Arrest Warrants for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple Misdemeanor and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Serious Misdemeanor. Helmers was unable to secure the $350 cash-only bond and the $1500 cash or surety bond and subsequently booked into the Palo Alto County Jail where she awaits her initial appearance before the judge.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
