On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 5:58 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Triestan VanDyk (34), of Hull, Iowa, on a valid O’Brien County arrest warrant for contempt of court- failure to satisfy financial obligations. The warrant stems from an original charge of forgery, which is a class D felony. There was no bond set for the warrant. VanDyk was transported to the Palo Alto County Jail, without incident, and held to await transportation to the O’Brien County Jail.
VanDyke also had a valid arrest warrant out of Sioux County for failure to appear in court on original charges of forgery, driving while barred, and two additional counts of failure to appear. There was no bond set for the arrest warrants out of Sioux County.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
