On 01/02/2020 at 8:33 a.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigation a two vehicle accident in the 3500 block of 360th Street. Upon investigation it was determined that a silver 2007 Chevy Silverado, driven by James Kelly Granstra and registered to Granstra Trucking of Sheldon, was eastbound on 360th Street. Granstra was attempting to pass a group of vehicles, as the front vehicle was travelling at a low speed, when a red 2009 Chevy Impala driven and registered to Angela Jayne Knutson of Spencer decided to attempt to pass the vehicle as well. The Knutson vehicle sideswiped the rear passenger side of the Granstra vehicle.
Damage to the Knutson vehicle is estimated at $1,200.00 and the Granstra vehicle is estimated at $150.00. No injuries were reported on scene. Knutson was issued a citation for Failure to Yield to Passing Vehicle.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
