At 3:54 p.m. on September 18, 2018, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a two vehicle car accident at the intersection of 460th Avenue and 490th Street in Mallard. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office determined a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Cassandra Wilson (23) of Pocahontas, was stopped at a stop sign. Cassandra entered the intersection and struck a 2001 Toyota being operated by Scott Lowman (46) of Emmetsburg. Wilson’s vehicle sustained an estimated $4,500 in damage. Scott’s vehicle sustained an estimated $4,500 in damage.
Scott was transported to the Palo Alto County Hospital by the Palo Alto County Ambulance Service.
Wilson was charged with failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way. Assisting the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was the Palo Alto County Hospital, Mallard First Responders, and Mallard Fire Department.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
