On March 05, 2018, at 9:54 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 300 Block of N. Van Gordon in Graettinger, Ia for a report of a two vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of N. Van Gordon Ave and Industrial Rd. Upon investigation, it was determined that Miles Heady of Graettinger, Ia was stopped at the intersection of N. Van Gordon and Industrial Rd. in his 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. At the same time, John Tatman of Graettinger, Ia was driving westbound attempting to turn south onto N. Van Gordon from Industrial Rd. when he lost control and slid the back end of a 1998 Dodge Ram, owned by Johnette Dodds of Royal, Ia, into the Heady vehicle.
Damage to the Heady vehicle was estimated at $2000 while the damage to the vehicle driven by Tatman was estimated at $500. No injuries were reported from the collision. Tatman was cited and released for failing to have a valid driver’s license.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
