Two Vehicle Accident

On June 23, 2017 at 2:39pm, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two vehicle accident 2 1/2 miles east of Cylinder.

A 2008 Chevy Silverado Truck driven by Brad A. Tendal of Laurens, was west bound in the 5500-blk of 390th st, when he became distracted by his cell phone and cross the centeline, sideswiping a 2012 Fiat, 500 Sport, which was east bound on 390th st, driven by Ronald L. Zoutendam of Sheldon.

As Tendal and Zoutendam vehicles collided the debris flew up and struck the hood of a 2013 Ford F150, driven by Michael Gazafy, who was following behind the Fiat. All vehicles pulled over to the shoulder of the road after the accident.

Whittemore Ambulance checked Tendal and Zoutendam and were released.

Damage to the Chevy was estimated at $11,000, Fiat at $6,300 and Ford at $600.00

Assisting at the scene of accident was, Whittemore Ambulance and Fire Department, Cylinder Fire Department and the Palo Alto County Hospital Ambulance, Emmetsburg Crew.

Tendal was cited for, Driving on wrong side of two-way Highway

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
