Two Vehicle Accident

On 06/02/2017 the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of 390th Avenue and 450th Street. Upon investigation it was determined that a 2013 Chevy Equinox driven by Marilyn Lavonne Rouse of Curlew was northbound on 390 the Avenue when she failed to yield the right away to a 2015 Toyota Venza driven Wilber Ernesto Belloso of Storm Lake as he travelled westbound on 450th Street. The vehicles nearly collided in the uncontrolled intersection as Rouse swerved to the left and entered the north ditch sideways causing the vehicle to roll onto its passenger side. Belloso swerved to the right and entered the ditch head on.

Damage to the Rouse vehicle is estimated at $8,000.00 and damage to the Belloso vehicle is estimated at $7,500.00. No injuries were reported on scene. Rouse was issued a citation for Failure to Yield to Vehicle on the Right. Belloso was issued citations for Failure to have Valid License and Failure to Provide Proof against Financial Liability.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Ayrshire First Responders and Palo Alto County Ambulance Service.
