Theft Arrest

On 10/19/2019 at 1:22 p.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen pop machine from the G-Town Car Wash, located at 210 E Robins. The pop machine was stolen sometime between 5:00 p.m. on 10/18/2019 and 11:00 a.m. on 10/19/2019. The pop machine was valued at $950.00.

Prior to receiving this report, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office and Emmetsburg Police Department recovered a pop machine that was dumped in the 4400 block of Burns Road. The pop machine had extensive damage, an estimated $600.00.

An investigation into the incident was conducted by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office. Following that investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dawson Allen Moen, 20, of Emmetsburg and Cody James Wilke,19, of Emmetsburg. Moen and Wilke were charged with Theft in the 3rd degree and Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, both aggravated misdemeanors. Moen and Wilke were booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await their initial appearance before a magistrate.

A 15-year-old male juvenile was citied and released to the custody of his parents on charges of Theft in the 3rd degree and Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, both aggravated misdemeanors, in connection to the incident.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
