On Monday, February 11, 2019, at 7:33 pm, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a vehicle rollover in the 5400 block of 390th Street. Following the investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office determined that John Zauche (25), of Emmetsburg, was driving his 2004 Chevrolet Impala west bound in the 5400 block of 390th Street and while he was attempting to slow his vehicle down, Zauche lost control. Zauche’s vehicle slid sideways into the south ditch, rolled once and then came to rest. Zauche did not sustain any injuries in the accident. Zauche’s vehicle sustained an estimated $3,500.00 damage in the accident. Zauche was issued a citation for failure to maintain control of his motor vehicle, which is a simple misdemeanor.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
