On Sunday, May 06, 2018 at 5:36 p.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the intersection of 340th Ave. and 460th Street for a report of a one vehicle accident. Upon investigation, it was determined that Kaylynn Card-Minard (17) of Milford, Ia was driving her 2001 Pontiac Bonneville northbound in the 4600 block of 340th Ave. when she lost control of the vehicle, entering the east ditch. The Card-Minard vehicle proceeded to enter a roll, crossing the 3400 block of 460th Street and coming to a stop in the northeast ditch of the intersection. Due to the collision, the vehicle became engulfed in fire. The Webb Fire Department assisted at the scene. Card-Minard was seen by the Palo Alto County Ambulance crew and was uninjured in the collision. The vehicle was deemed a total loss.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted at the scene by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Kaylynn Card-Minard was issued a traffic citation for failure to maintain control and released without incident.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
