At 9:24 p.m. on December 27, 2018, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the intersection Highway #4 and Highway #18 for a one vehicle car accident. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office determined Alyssa Heller (22) of Emmetsburg was south on Highway #4 approaching the stop sign intersecting with Highway #18. Heller advised a burgundy vehicle was turning north on Highway #4 form Highway #18 when it lost control and came into her lane of travel. Heller advised she swerved to avoid a collision with northbound vehicle. Heller advised she stuck the curb that contains the stop sign at the intersection. The 2015 GMC Acadia Heller was operating sustained an estimated $4,000 in damage as a result of the collision with the curb. Heller and her infant passenger were not injured in the accident.
