On 12-25-15 at 9:30 pm, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to a one vehicle accident at the intersection of 290th St. and 370th Av. A 1998 Buick Park Av., owned and driven by Victor Norman Handy of Estherville, was heading west on 290th St. when he failed to stop at the T-intersection stop sign and proceeded into the intersection and into the west ditch. Handy received minor injuries in the accident and was checked out by the Palo Alto County Ambulance service and released. Handy was issued a citation for failure to stop at a stop sign. A juvenile in the vehicle was also checked out by the ambulance and was released. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at approximately $8000.
