On June 5, 2018 at 10:05am, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one vehicle rollover 1/3 of a mile south of Ruthven on 350 Ave.
A 2009 Chevy Impala driven by Lucien James Benedix age 16 of Ruthven was southbound in the 3600-blk of 350th Ave and was traversing a curve. Benedix lost control of the Impala and then over corrected and slid into the west ditch, and rolled. The Impala came to rest on its wheels in the ditch.
Benedix was checked out by the Emmetsburg Ambulance, and was released. Damage to the Impala was estimated at $6000.00. Benedix was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
