At 8:05 p.m. on April 18, 2018, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s office received an anonymous complaint of a car accident in the 1400 block of Carr Street in Ruthven. Upon investigation the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office determined Adam Clement (35) of Ruthven was west bound on Carr Street when he lost control of a 1999 Chevrolet K2500. Clement entered the north ditch and stuck a tree. Clement removed the vehicle from the scene and was located at his residence. Clement was charged with failure to provide proof of financial liability accident related and failure to maintain control both simple misdemeanors. No injuries were reported in the accident and damage to the 1999 Chevrolet K2500 was estimated at $5,000.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
