On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 5500 Block of 485th Street for a report of a one vehicle collision. Upon investigation, it was determined that Michael Bohan (59) of Humboldt, Ia was travelling eastbound in a 2013 Dodge Ram, owned by Cleary Building Corp of De Soto, Ia, on 485th Street. Bohan lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch, striking a tree. Bohan was able to exit the vehicle and the vehicle started on fire.
The West Bend Fire Department was called to the scene and extinguished the vehicle. Bohan was transported by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital for his injuries. The 2013 Dodge Ram was considered a total loss.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted at the scene by the West Bend Police Department. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s office cited Bohan for Failing to Maintain Control.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
