On 01/28/2018 at 6:06 a.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle accident at the intersection of South Brown Avenue and West Patterson Street in Graettinger. Upon investigation it was determined on 01/27/2018 at 11:30 p.m. a 1997 Ford Ranger owned by William Girres of Graettinger and driven by Shane Girres of Graettinger was eastbound on West Patterson Street. Girres was attempting to make a left hand turn onto South Brown Avenue when he lost control of the Ranger. The Ranger left the roadway subsequently side swiping a tree.
Damage to the Ranger is estimated at $1,200.00. There were no injuries reported. Girres was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
