On 9/2/2019 at 2:56 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single vehicle personal injury accident that occurred in the 3300 block of 420th Avenue. A 1997 Ford Escort driven by Larry Allen Boedeker, (64) of Calamus, IA was traveling south in the 3300 block of 420th Avenue. While driving south, Boedeker’s vehicle drifted across the undivided center line of the roadway and continued into the east ditch area. The Boedeker vehicle continued to travel south in the ditch before making contact with a farm/field drive. After making contact with the farm/field drive, the Boedeker vehicle vaulted and became airborne. The Boedeker vehicle landed in the ditch area of the roadway and came to a stop. A passenger in the vehicle, Sharon Lynn Boedeker was transported to the Palo Alto County Hospital by ambulance. Two additional occupants were treated at the scene by medical personnel and released. Following an investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Larry Allen Boedeker on charges of Driving While Revoked, a Serious Misdemeanor and Failure to Maintain Control, a Simple Misdemeanor. Boedeker was placed in jail to await his initial appearance before a judge.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
