On 03/27/2019 at 2:19 p.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Robert Thornton, 59, of Emmetsburg on the charge of Public Intoxication 2nd offense, a serious misdemeanor. Thornton was subsequently booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await his initial appearance before a magistrate.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
