The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office has completed an investigation into the head on motor vehicle collision that occurred on November 24th, 2019 in the 5100 block of 370th Street in which Kimberly Barnes (50) from West Bend was driving a Red 2003 Ford Focus eastbound in the 5100 block of 390th Street when she crossed the center line and collided head on with a westbound Red 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Billy Roberts Jr. (42) from Fenton.
Subsequently, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kimberly Barnes on valid Palo Alto County warrants stemming from the accident investigation. Barnes was charged with operating while intoxicated 1st offense = serious misdemeanor and driving on the wrong side of a two way highway = simple misdemeanor. Bond was set in the amount of $1,500.00 cash only for operating while intoxicated 1st offense and a $500.00 unsecured bond for driving on the wrong side of a two way highway. Barnes was unable to post bond and was subsequently booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await her initial appearance before a magistrate.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
