Operate While Barred

On Saturday, December 8th, 2018, at 03:31 am, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle stuck on the shoulder in the 3300 block of 350th Avenue. Following an investigation into the report, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office determined that Vicki Forcht (44) of Spencer, was driving a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser north in the 3400 block of 350th Avenue. Due to dense fog, Forcht was unable to see the intersection and recognize her location. After driving through the intersection and reaching gravel, Forcht locked her brakes, causing her vehicle to slide into the east ditch. There was no damage done to Frocht’s vehicle.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Forcht’s driver’s license was barred. Following the investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Forcht, charging her with driving while barred, which is an aggravated misdemeanor; failure to maintain control and operating a non registered vehicle, which are both simple misdemeanors. Forcht was transported, without incident, to the Palo Alto County Jail and booked in to await her initial appearance before a magistrate.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
