On May 4, 2021, at 4:44 a.m., a Palo Alto County Deputy observed a semi and SUV parked in the 3700 block of 340th Street near Ruthven. The deputy made contact with the occupants and discovered a no contact order was in place between the occupants. As a result of the investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jason Scott Hickingbottom (40) of Pocahontas for violation of a no contact/protective order, a simple misdemeanor. Hickingbottom was taken to the Palo Alto County jail where he awaits an initial appearance in front of a judge.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
