At 4:48 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a hit and run accident that occurred near the intersection of 280th Street and 370th Avenue sometime between 9:00 p.m on 11-4-18 and 4:45 a.m. on 11-5-2018. A 2012 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Roger Schmitt of Graettinger, Ia, was parked near the road closed signs on the east side of the instersection when an uknown make and model of vehicle struck the Schmitt vehicle causing an estimated $750.00 damage. The unknown driver, possibly driving a gray colored vehicle, left the scene without reporting the accident or informing the owner.
