On 01/05/2021 the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 1900 block of Rolling St., Ruthven, Iowa to investigate a hit and run accident. Through the course of an investigation a juvenile suspect was identified. On 01/23/2021 the juvenile was charged with operating without a valid driver’s license, operating a motor vehicle without owners’ consent, duty to report an accident, and interference with official acts. The juvenile was subsequently released to a parent.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
