False Information and Felony Warrant Arrests

On Sunday September 20, 2015 at 8:30pm the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Center St. and Burns St. in Ruthven, IA. A 2003 Ford Windstar was stopped for being driven without the rear lights activated. During the stop, it was discovered that two of the passengers in the vehicle lied about their identities to mislead the deputy. Anthony Dale Linderman (23) of Mason City and the female passenger were arrested for Interference with Official Acts which is a Simple Misdemeanor. Linderman and the female passenger were transported to the Palo Alto County Jail and booked in on the Interference charges.

After the original arrest and booking of the female passenger, the deputy discovered that she had given the deputy false identification a second time. The deputy was able to eventually positively identify the female as Betty Jo Hiveley (34) of Mason City, IA. Because Hiveley was booked and signed official documents under the false identity, Hiveley was charged with Identity Theft which is an Aggravated Misdemeanor in this case.

It was discovered that Hiveley had two warrants out of Cerro Gordo County. One warrant was for Violation of her Pre-Trial Release on an original charge of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense. The second warrant was for Operating While Under the Influence. Hiveley’s Bond is set at $10,000 cash only for the two warrants.

Anthony Linderman had a Felony Warrant out of Cerro Gordo County for Failure to Appear on a Forgery Charge. Linderman’s Bond is set at $5000.
