Drug Arrests

On 07/24/2021 at 1:40 A.M. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of harassment occurring in the 900 block of Inman St., Mallard, Iowa. As a result of the investigation Jason Langschwager (48) of Primghar, Iowa, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance 2nd offense methamphetamine – aggravated misdemeanor, possession of a controlled substance 2nd offense marijuana – serious misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia – simple misdemeanor, harassment 3rd degree – simple misdemeanor, driving while license suspended – simple misdemeanor. Ashley Sorensen (35) of Okoboji, Iowa was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st offense methamphetamine – serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia – simple misdemeanor. Jesse Colhour (24) of Ruthven, Iowa was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd or subsequent offense methamphetamine – D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia – simple misdemeanor. Mark Shaughnessy (64) of Mallard, Iowa was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd or subsequent offense marijuana – aggravated misdemeanor, possession of a controlled substance 1st offense methamphetamine – serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia – simple misdemeanor.

All of the subjects were transported without incident to the Palo Alto County Jail and booked in to await their initial appearance before a judge. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Emmetsburg Police Department, the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit, and Wickman’s Towing.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
