At 10:39 p.m. on February 16, 2018 the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve an arrest warrant on an individual at 1602 Gowrie Street in Ruthven. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office could detect an odor of marijuana emitting from the residence while trying to make contact with the wanted subject. Upon investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kimberly V Gonzales age 46 of Ruthven, IA for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver = class B felony, possession of a controlled substance 1st offense -marijuana, = serious misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia = a simple misdemeanor, and gathering for use of marijuana = serious misdemeanor. Gonzales was transported to the Palo Alto County Jail without incident and held on the charges.
The investigation into illegal drug use continues and more charges are expected.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
