On Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 10:10 am, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Karissa Matheason (35) of Graettinger, charging her with introducing controlled substance into a correctional facility, which is a class D felony. Matheason was being booked into the jail on a valid Palo Alto County warrant to serve a 30 day mittimus when Deputies identified a controlled substance that was discarded by Matheason during the book in process.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
