On 11/29/2020 at 9:14 P.M. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 3500 block of 360th St., Ruthven, Iowa. As a result of the stop the driver of the vehicle, Leonel Garcia (18) of Spencer, Iowa, was placed under arrested and charged with possession of marijuana 1st offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and minor in possession of alcohol. He was also cited for failure to illuminate the rear license plate. Leonel was subsequently released on his promise to appear in court at a later date.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
