On 11/1/18 at approximately 1:15 P.M. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 Pontiac G6, in the 1600 Block of 11th Street in Emmetsburg. Upon an investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, arrested the driver, Heather Kaye Peterson (41) of Emmetsburg, on charges of Driving While Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. Following her arrest, Peterson was placed in jail to await her initial appearance before a judge.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
