On Sunday, February 18th, 2018, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated the use of a counterfeit $100.00 bill at a local business in Graettinger, Ia. The bill looks and feels like a real bill, but states “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY” on the front of the bill. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office and the Emmetsburg Police Department would like to warn the public and all businesses to be alert when receiving any bills, especially larger bills. If a counterfeit bill is identified, please contact your local law enforcement immediately.
