On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a car versus deer accident in the 4400 block of 460th Avenue. It was determined Daniel Stokes (67) of Mallard, IA. was northbound on 460th avenue when a deer emerged in the roadway from the east ditch. Stokes’ vehicle collided with the deer causing an estimated $2,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
