On 10/19/2019 at 7:07 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a car deer accident in the 4500 block of 390th St., Emmetsburg, Iowa. A 2013Toyota Camry owned and operated by Machelle McClendon (51) of Dayton, Iowa was east bound in the 4500 block of 390th St. when a deer emerged from the roadway and collided with her vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate front end damage to the bumper, grill and hood, but was able to be driven from the scene. The deer was located deceased near the ditch. Machelle and a passenger in the Toyota reported no injuries.
