On 3/10/2018 at 8:26 p.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a single vehicle vs. deer collision that occurred in the 4000 block of 460th Avenue. According to the investigation, a 2007 Ford Fusion owned and driven by Jeanine Ann Johnson, age 57 of Pocahontas, was traveling north on 460th Avenue. While traveling north, a deer emerged from the east ditch and onto the roadway. The Johnson vehicle made contact with the deer causing an estimated $2500.00 worth of damages. There were no reported injuries from the collision.
