On 10/27/2015 at 3:00 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office responded to an abandoned vehicle located at the intersection of 280th St and 350th Avenue. While responding, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received information in regards to a suspicious vehicle in the area of the 3500 block of 280th Street. The suspicious vehicle was located at a farm site and as a result of the investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested two (2) subjects on multiple charges. Kyle John Sroufe, age 35 of Milford, was charged with: Burglary 3rd Degree (Class D Felony), Trespass (Simple Misdemeanor), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor), Three Counts of Possession of a controlled Substance (Serious Misdemeanors) and Two Counts of Possession of Prescription Medication without a Prescription (Serious Misdemeanors). Also arrested was Ashley Nichole Smith, age 29 of Milford. Smith was charged with: Burglary 3rd Degree (Class D Felony), Possession of Contraband (Class D Felony), Trespass (Serious Misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor). Sroufe and Smith were transported to the Palo Alto County Jail to wait their initial appearance before a magistrate.
