At 8:45 p.m. on August 9, 2018 the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 1800 Block of Rolling Street in Ruthven for a complaint of a reckless driver. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office determined Cameron Brown (18) of Ruthven was operating the motor vehicle. While the deputy was taking Brown into custody, he resisted the officer. Brown was charged with interference with official acts causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor, driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor, operation without registration, a simple misdemeanor, failure to prove security against liability, a simple misdemeanor, and careless driving, a simple misdemeanor. Brown was transported to the Palo Alto County Jail and held until an initial appearance.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
