Disturbance Arrest

On 06/30/2021 at 9:12 P.M. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to 401 E Robins Street in Graettinger for a disturbance. Following an investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bowden Stallings (27) of Graettinger, on charges of Interference With Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor. Trenton Stallings (26) of Graettinger was arrested on charges of Willful Injury, a Class D Felony, Interference With Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor, and Providing Alcohol To A Minor, a Simple Misdemeanor. Emma Hanson (18) of Estherville was issued a citation for Possession of Alcohol. Both Trenton and Bowden Stallings were placed in the Palo Alto County Jail to await their initial appearance before a Judge.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Emmet County Sheriff’s office, and assisted at the Jail by the Emmetsburg Police Department.

Arrest Warrant

On Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11:25 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Randy Lee Timmons (36) of Mason City Iowa on two valid Palo Alto County arrest warrants for 1st Degree Harassment, an Aggravated Misdemeanor and 3rd Degree Harassment, a Simple Misdemeanor. Both warrants had “No Bond” and Timmons was placed in jail to await his initial appearance before a judge.

Criminal Mischief / Harassment

On 6-8-21 the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a harassment that also involved criminal mischief to the bridge in the 4400 block of 320th Street. Following an investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office charged Kady Jane Traub (18) of Rolfe, Isabella Grace Householder (18) of Emmetsburg, Macy Elizabeth McAllister (18) of Emmetsburg, and a 17 year old female, with Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree, a Simple Misdemeanor. Macy McAllister was also charged with Harassment in the 3rd Degree, a Simple Misdemeanor. Traub, Householder, and McAllister were all issued citations to appear in court at a later date. The female juvenile was issued a Juvenile Referral and released to her parents.

Driving while Revoked

On 10/7/2016 at 1747 hours, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Main Street in Ruthven. Upon an investigation into the traffic stop, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathan David Matthew Sutherland, age 31 of Ruthven, for operating a motor vehicle while license revoked.  Sutherland’s driving privileges were revoked by the Iowa DOT for a drug related conviction.  Sutherland was cited and released on the simple misdemeanor.  Sutherland was given a court date of 11/23/2016 to appear on the charge.

O.W.I. 1st Offense

On Sunday, October 09, 2016 at 1:50 a.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 block of 7th Street, Emmetsburg, on a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Tyler Kliegl (26) of Emmetsburg. During the traffic stop, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated Kliegl for possibly operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Following the investigation, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kliegl for OWI 1st offense, which is a serious misdemeanor. Kliegl was also cited for failure to obey a stop sign, which is a simple misdemeanor. Kliegl was booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await his initial appearance before a magistrate.

Trespassing

On Monday, October 10, 2016 at 1:46 a.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about someone trespassing on POET/Project Liberty property at 4724 380th Street, Emmetsburg. Following an investigation into the complaint, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ron Ludwig Jr., 37, of Emmetsburg. Ludwig was charged with trespassing= simple misdemeanor. Ludwig was booked into the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office to await his initial appearance before a magistrate. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Emmetsburg Police Department.

Driving While Suspended

On 10/10/2016 at 1335hrs the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of 360th Street. From the investigation into the traffic stop, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ronald Gene Moriarty, age 58, of Lake Park on a charge of driving while suspended.  Moriarty’s driving privileges were suspended by the Iowa DOT for non-payment of fines.  Moriarty was arrested, cited and released on the non-scheduled violation.  Moriarty was given a court date of 11/23/2016 to appear on the charge.

Car/Deer Accident

On Monday 10/10/16 the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office covered a vehicle vs deer accident north of Mallard. In the 4700 block of Highway 4, Tony Alvin Murray (59) of Graettinger, Iowa was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry northbound when he struck a deer in the road.  The damage to the vehicle is estimated at $2,000.  No injuries were reported.

Car/Deer Accident

 On 10/11/2016 at 7:12 a.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to a car/deer accident in the 3500 block of 530th Avenue. Upon investigation it was determined that a 1999 Ford F350 driven by Matthew Steven Markley of Havelock was northbound on 530th Avenue when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway from the east ditch. Damage to the Ford is estimated at $1,600.00. There were no injuries reported on scene.
