On 07/24/2021 at 7:51 P.M. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 4300 block of 360th St., Emmetsburg, Iowa 50536. As a result of the traffic stop the driver, Melvin Ramirez Chavarria (18) of Webster City, Iowa was placed under arrest and charged with driving while suspended, speeding and no proof of insurance. Melvin was transported without incident to the Palo Alto County Jail and booked in to await his initial appearance before a judge.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
