Additional Charges

On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office executed arrest warrants on Dawn M Vanderhoff (32) and Nathaniel Mefferd (33), both of Ruthven. The arrest warrants stem from an ongoing investigation by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office. Charges against Vanderhoff and Mefferd include: 2 counts of criminal mischief 5th degree= simple misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia= simple misdemeanor; theft 5th degree= simple misdemeanor; unlawful possession of prescription drug= serious misdemeanor; 2 counts of attempted burglary 3rd degree= aggravated misdemeanor; 2 counts of burglary 3rd degree= class D felony; money laundering= class C felony; and ongoing criminal conduct= class B felony.

Total bond for both Vanderhoff and Mefferd was set for $25,500.00 cash only. Vanderhoff and Mefferd were already booked into the Palo Alto County Jail on previous charges of burglary 3rd degree and possession of burglar tools.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
