On October 30, 2018, at 7:43p.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate an accident that occurred in the 2400 block of 19th Street, located in Emmetsburg, IA. It was determined that Trent Nelson (35), of Emmetsburg, IA, was driving a 2018 Ford F-150 owned by the City of Emmetsburg. Nelson failed to witness a legally parked 2003 GMC Yukon, owned by Eric Hill of Havelock, IA, as he was backing from a driveway in the 2400 block of 19th Street, striking the Hill vehicle. The Hill vehicle sustained an estimated $750.00 damage and Nelson vehicle had no reportable damage. No injuries were reported at the scene.
