On October 15, 2020, at 9:19 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a car deer accident near Emmetsburg. It was determined a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, owned and operated by Aaron Phillip Krusen (31) of Rolfe, IA, was northbound in the 4000-blk of 460th avenue when a deer emerged in the roadway. Krusen’s vehicle collided with the deer causing an estimated $4,500 in damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported at the scene.
