On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 2:53 pm, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 5000 block of 440 Avenue. Following an investigation into the accident, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office determined that on October 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm, Jacob Corzette (22) of Havelock, was driving a 2005 Saturn Ion northbound in the 5000 block of 440 Avenue. Jacob lost control of the vehicle and slid into the east ditch which caused the vehicle to roll once and came to rest on its tires. Corzette sustained minor injuries in the accident. The Saturn Ion was deemed a total loss in the accident. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office cited Corzette for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle, which is a simple misdemeanor.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
