On Friday, October 8, 2021, at 8:17 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a vehicle versus cow accident in the 3600-block of 380th Avenue. After investigation, it was determined Larry Porath (71) of Emmetsburg, IA., was northbound on 380th Avenue in a 2007 GMC pickup when two calves appeared in the roadway. Porath’s vehicle collided with one of the calves causing an estimated $10,000 damage to the pickup. No injuries were reported at the scene.
