On 7/9/2021 at 7:17 p.m., the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to a multi-vehicle accident with unknown injuries that had occurred at the intersection of 370th St and 480th Avenue. According to the investigation conducted by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, a 2006 Dodge Caravan owned and driven by Enrique Ortiz Alvaro, age 55 of Fairmont, MN, was approaching the intersection of 370th St and 480th Avenue with the intent to turn left or north. The Alvaro vehicle paused before doing so due to oncoming traffic traveling west. While pausing, a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 owned by Jordan Grimm but driven by Monika Kay Fehr, age 18 of Ottosen, IA, began to decelerate behind the Alvaro vehicle before coming to a stop. While stopped, a 2005 Chevy C3500 with attached utility trailer owned by Jordan Grimm but driven by a juvenile male failed to stop behind the 2001 Dodge Ram as other traffic paused for oncoming westbound traffic. The 2005 Chevy C3500 made contact with the rear portion of the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 thus forcing the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 into the rear portion of the Alvaro vehicle causing the property damage accident.

As a result of the investigation and with the assistance of multiple witnesses, the juvenile male operating the 2005 Chevy C3500 was issued a citation for following too closely. Enrique Ortiz Alvaro was issued a citation for failure to have a valid driver’s license. All occupants were checked by medical personnel at the scene with no occupant being transported to PACH. The Alvaro 2006 Dodge Caravan sustained an estimated $3000 worth of damages.
