On 02/15/2021 at 8:56 p.m. the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Carr Street and West Street in Ruthven. Upon investigation it was determined that Gary Dean Jones of Ruthven was southbound on West Street in a 2020 Toyota Camry registered to EAN Holdings LLC of Tulsa Oklahoma. Jones was traversing the curve when he crossed over the center line and struck an oncoming 2009 Ford Fusion driven by and registered to Trevor Alan Halder of Ruthven. Jones was transported by private vehicle to Spencer hospital for possible injuries. Damage to the Toyota is estimated at $8,000.00 and damage to the Ford is estimated at $7,000.00. Jones was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Half of Roadway, simple misdemeanor.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
