Two Vehicle Accident

On 8/31/2016 at 2:17 p.m., The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an accident in the 5200 block of 370th Street. Upon an investigation done at the scene, a 1991 Ford Bronco owned and driven by William Lee Jacobs age 59 of Branson, MO, was traveling westbound and piloting construction equipment. Jacobs was attempting to warn eastbound traffic of a potential traffic hazard with a traffic control device when a 2008 Ford Ranger, owned by West Bend Ford and driven by Mark Aloysins Montag, age 82 of West Bend, was struck by the traffic control device causing the personal injury accident. As a result of the contact, Montag received minor injuries.

The 2008 Ford Ranger owned by West Bend Ford received approximately $200.00 worth of damages. Damage to the traffic control device was estimated at $30.00. Jacobs was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Half of Roadway. Montag was issued a citation for Fail to have proper special plates.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
